Our dishwashers only use 14 litres of water for a typical wash load, washing by hand uses around 65 litres. A dishwasher only heats up exactly the amount of water it uses, saving you around £50 on your energy bill at the same time!
Dishwashers are also more hygienic than handwashing, with water temperatures reaching 65°C inside the machine, this virtually kills off all bacteria. When you wash by hand the water is around 40°C, at this temperature certain bacteria can survive, leaving you with clean but dirty dishes.
